Is technology good or bad?

Weird question isn’t it. There is no straight forward answer here. It all depends on how you use it (what a cliché thing to say), but it really depends. Machines follow our commands (until SKYNET takes over), so anything wrong it does is our fault isn’t it.

But sometimes machines don’t follow our commands, that’s because we didn’t read the user manual accurately. We need to fully study and understand what a particular machine was designed to do and how it does it (on basic level not astrophysics level ). For example some cars need a certain kind of fuel, let’s say hi-octane but instead we put cheaper kind, then it will emit more than usual harmful gases and its engine will be damaged gradually. Why does this happen? Problem is that car was unable to fully combust the cheaper fuel which put extra strain on engine, excess harmful gases were produced in the process and engine was hurt. In conclusion car was damaged, repair cost might be higher than he saved on fuel and environment was hurt badly as well.

The lesson here is to minimize pollution don’t stop using cars (impossible thing to do anyway), get basic understanding and use it efficiently. What I mean to say is; don’t avoid technology understand it. That’s how got technology in the first place, by understanding the natural resources.
